Poloxamer is a great way to administer medication to animal ear canals. It utilizes Reverse Thermodynamics, which means it is a liquid when cold and a semi-solid when warm.
Poloxamer Vet Ear Plugs
- Used for otitis externa, typically in dogs
- Active pharmaceutical ingredients, such as antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, or combinations of these, are mixed into the poloxamer base
- Pre-packed in 5 mL syringes with applicator
- Applied once in-clinic and left in place for 5-7 days
- Water soluble – washes out with water irrigation
